Choreographing An Abstract Space

Choreographing An Abstract Space at Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart explores creating an abstract realm through light, dance, and the transformed sound of a saxophone.
It captures a moment that defies definition, generating a shifting momentum through repetition, frequency, and microtonality—building and dissolving with each movement. The volumetric mass forms a safe space where actions unfold freely. The work centers on transforming the conditioned body and inhabited space, emphasizing letting go of expectations to create an open environment.
The interplay of light, sound, and dance organizes movement in time and space. The dancing body acts as an instrument—mechanical, social, emotional, sensual—translating unconscious spatial impulses like light, sound, temperature, architecture, and relationships into conscious motion, navigating space and time with intelligence.
Performed with Daniel Gianfranceschi on saxophone and pedals.
